The Perfect Long Weekend

Total Pull-Up Count: 63,000

Dude, this weekend was everything that I could’ve hoped for. The only downside to how active I was these last few days is how hungry I am ALL THE TIME.
Friday, I hiked mission peak after work. Saturday I ran a 5K just for shits and giggs, Sunday I hiked mission peak AGAIN, today I did the MURPH workout.
You either want it or you don’t and I’m addicted to the endorphins.

Running Is Easy.

Total Pull-Up Count: 62,000

Alright. Running is a joke. I ran a 5K today with ZERO training, and just straight willpower. Just a tad below 25 minutes. This is the longest I’ve ever ran, and I’m a meatball with tiny legs, and size 12 clown shoes. If I can do this sport with ease, I’d love for a runner to put up a decent squat, at least bench their weight (which wouldn’t be too much, Ive seen how sickly some of you runners look), or just do literally ANYTHING physically taxing.

Okay I know what some of you will say.. “I mean that’s just an average time… blah blah” yeah but I haven’t been training the past decade and realistically I didn’t know what I was doing and just jammin out to some Expendables. I know I can get a competitive time with just willpower once again but goddamn this sport is boring.

Lemme Take You Through My Day

Total Pull-up Count: 61,500

6:30am: 1 mile walk - seriously this sets my day up so well, especially now that I’m friends with the other regular “walkers” and we do the white guy face smile where you lift the sides of your mouth to acknowledge each other, you guys know what I’m talking about.

6:53am-7:50am: 500 Pull-ups, 500 push-ups, 50 handstand push-ups. The usual.

8:00am: Werk.

11:30am: ran a 6:39 mile, because why not? ALSO, this is my 3rd mile I’ve ever ran since high school (8 years since I graduated). Runners… you have 24 hours to respond. I ran this 6:39 mile with no practice, just with straight willpower. I have tiny legs. May I remind you I’m 5’9” on a good day with size 12 clown feet. I should not be a sub 7 minute. My genetics literally work against me. Your sport is easy… but I digress…

12:00pm: some facepulls because my posture is god awful in quarantine. Lookin like Quasimodo working a call-center job.

2:00pm: off werk.

2:30pm: hike up mission peak. Got up to the top in 55minutes, took a few pictures because I’m a content whore, and then slipped on my way down multiple times because gravity can be a bitch sometimes.

Anyways, today was a lovely day.

61,000

Just get up and get after it. This morning I woke up, got a mile walk in. Realized I had enough time to knock out 500 pull-ups and push-ups before work (57 minutes long). Knocked out some squats, deadlifts, and hand stand push ups during lunch. Then at 5pm, went for a 3 mile walk and ran the 4th mile in 7min 44sec. Just get up and move.

And wouldya look at that, a little over two weeks later and I’m already at 60,000 pull-ups. One of the most bizarre things to think about is how exponential the growth has been in all aspects. It used to take me collectively almost 2 hours to knock out 300 pull-ups. Whereas today, I was able to do 500 pull-ups AND 500 push-ups in 58 minutes. I was looking back through my iPhone notes at the exact day in November that I decided my life was too soft, and I needed a bit more of a challenge. Took me ages to figure out that calculation right there but the math is sound, I think.
